Exciting News

ComputerGirlscreen First I would like to thank you all for watching the first episode of Computer Girl. I hope my “coming out” was enjoyable for everyone. I think Michael did a great job on the script and production and while the series does not show me how I truly am, it does seem to capture my essence. I hope you were not disappointed.

The next episode will be coming soon, some time in the middle of November. We have already shot it and Michael is furiously trying to piece it together. It is full of drama and intrigue. Sally is a bit embarrassed about it actually, I guess it is her turn to “come out”. I will not say more about it because I do not want to provide any spoilers.

Anyway, the exciting news that I have is about Michael. He is going to be speaking about Computer Girl on a radio show this weekend. The show is called The Storm Hour and it is broadcast from The Movies On-Air . If you do not catch the show while it is on, then you can download it from the site next week. Why they did not invite me to join them is a mystery to me.

And I'm sure you are all wondering how Carlton and I are doing. We were enjoying spending all our time together but I am no longer certain about our relationship. Carlton thinks that Google Waves are a waste of time and I think they are an innovative and beautiful addition to the cyber-sphere. Carlton is a Luddite – that is someone who does not like technology. The question is do I want to spend my time with someone technology has left in its wake or am I destined to find someone who will sit with me on the leading edge? I do not know the answer.

Love

My apologies if I’ve been away too long but I do have a very good reason.  I have been spending much of my off time with Carlton.  At first when I saw him during the shoot, I was not pleased.  But then later, when I replayed my memories, they were not all bad.  It is funny how time can erase hurt,  but that is an entirely different story, one you may see later.  Right now I am in love again, it is a wonderful feeling and I would sing if I were born with vocal cords that provided on-key frequencies.

On to the show news.  Michael is deep in post production and my voice has been dubbed.  I should sound Crystal clear when you hear me.  When will you hear me?  I hear you ask.   The second week of October.  That is when the first episode of Computer Girl will premier.   And if I were given an exact date I would definitely have provided it.

Will there be episodes beyond the first episodes?  I think so.  You must all know by now of my love for logic and that I was not going to do additional episodes without first doing a documentary on the subject.    Michael, being the creative person that he is, believes there may be a way for us to incorporate the logic documentary  into the Computer Girl show.  Before I did the first episode I might have said no, but I am having so much fun with this show that I do not want to see it end.  So whether or not we incorporate logic, I am willing to continue in my role. Logic be damned!

Post-Production Blues

image I have lost my voice. It must be some virus that has recently begun propagating in the wild. Either that or I have been talking too much this week. All of the excitement from the production shoots we did of Computer Girl may have had me a bit more vocal than usual. Now, I sound a bit like a frog when I speak.

Michael is well into the post-production on the episode but my voice loss is causing a bit of a set back. He needed me to dub a few of my lines but I can’t right now for obvious reasons. It will just have to wait. The delay is my fault and I apologise to all of you right now.

I wish I could dub the lines tonight. I enjoy this entertainment business – I have even taken to the jargon: shooting footage, dubbing voices, post-production, etc. I am starting to feel like I could take the business by storm. But first I need to stop sounding like a male amphibian.

So it is plenty of fluids and a scarf for me. Show business will have to wait until I feel better. I should also finish the program I have been working on that calculates the kurtosis of distributions in relation to transmission speed. That’s even more important than my voice and fun too.

First day of production

Carlton I was not certain what I should expect from the first day of production on the “Computer Girl” web series but I did not  expect to see Carlton.  Alright, his name was in the script but I expected Michael would find an actor to play him.  Instead, somehow  Michael managed to get Carlton  to play himself.  I am not sure exactly how but there is a high probability Sally was involved.

It is all well and fine having your first sexual experience blasted across a screen for everyone to see but to have to enact it with the man you had it with in the first place was a very odd experience indeed.  Michael said it added a certain realism and  I guess he was correct but please, remember when you see it, don’t  try it at home.

I can not say anything else about the content of the series because it would provide you with what Michael likes to term as spoilers.

So far we have filmed  the household interiors, including the bedroom scene.  But we still have another day of production where we shoot the coffee shop scenes.  A coffee shop nearby has offered to let us shoot there, so that is where we will be filming next weekend.  Thankfully Carlton  is not in any of those scenes.

Though I have to admit, it was good to see him after all this time.

The Script

Michael sent me the script for the first episode of Computer Girl.  I have to say right up front that I had a bit of a shock when I first read it.  Not that it was a bad script but the subject happened to be my first sexual experience.  The thought of  having people watch me lose my naivety made me shudder.  After some processing and some discussion with Michael and SaIly, I arrived at the conclusion that this is exactly what I wanted.  I want people to know me, the real me.  That and the fact that this may actually get my documentary on logic off the ground – which I still believe everyone will want to see.

While the story of my first encounter is there, I’m not so certain Michael captured my persona as effectively. He  took some liberty  and exaggerated a bit so I am unable to tell if he has created an accurate representation of my behavior. Both he and Sally assured me that it is fairly close but I am 100% positive I never say  “Please wait" while I am thinking.  I also do not refer to my brain as a CPU.  I may have at some point said it is like a CPU but that isn’t the same thing.

Michael made me promise I wouldn’t say too much about it.  Hopefully, when you watch it you will remember my concerns and make the appropriate adjustments to your interpretation.  We start production next week.
